Description:
Introduced in 1987 sporting lines that still grace todays vessels, the
Antigua 265 is probably the roomiest 26 foot sunbridge cruiser ever
built. Her cabin feels more like her overall length of 28 feet
(without pulpit), than her waterline length of 26 feet. She sleeps six,
in the typical boating style (read: crowded), but three adults can stay
aboard for days on end as they will each have a private sleeping area.
She offers seating for six adults in the cockpit and/or five adults out
of the elements in the comfort of her cabin. Her narrow beam and high
deep vee hull lets her ride gently into Lake Erie chop, though she will
feel somewhat "tippy" when taking waves off the beam. Her 260HP V8 keeps
her fron being a speed demon, but she will get on plane with power to
spare.
The boat is in pretty good condition for its age. I am only the third
owner as of 6/2004. The topsides have a few spider cracks but nothing
major. The exterior seats are in good shape with the helm seats
replaced this year. Her interior is in pretty good shape. As with
any 16 year old vessel, she requires a little attention, but is still a
great boat for those on a budget. The worst news is she needs to have
the throttle/shift cable and or assembly looked at as (she seems to
require excessive travel to reach reverse). and she has moisture in the
hull (NO ROT THOUGH).
BUC lists the Antigua at $12,200 to $13,900, without any options or
extras, and in only average condition. Both guides reflect the price
without a trailer. My asking price is $10,500.00 for the boat with all
of the negotiable extras listed, as well as a triple axle trailer for
short transport. The boat looks presentable, is in the water and ready
to enjoy, but could use a few things here and there to realize her full
potential. Because of this, I will be VERY flexible on my asking
price, in hopes of finding a buyer who wants a nice boat for good
price. While being offered for sale, I will be addressing her issues,
making the price less negotiable as they get accomplished.
Interested parties can contact me at my email address:
sailbad_d_sinner.RemoveThis@hotmail.com or via phone at : 216-849-8468. Please
leave a message regarding the boat with your name and an appropriate
time to return your call. For ANY interested party I will make myself
available to show the boat, offering a sea trial to serious buyers
before 10/31/2004.
