My dad recently purchased two 1995 Seadoo XP's that are in great
condition. The only thing that is a problem right now is the fuel
gauges. Neither work, one shows three bars constantly and the other
doesn't show any. I think that either the sensor or a wire has come
loose. I'm looking at Seadoo's parts diagrams and can't see where the
wire goes into the tank or how the sensor works. Does anyone have any
advice as to how I could go about looking at the wiring or the
sensor? It seems to be a common problem.

Thanks

I have used '95 XP and '95 GTX.
I am told the fuel sensor is located on the top of the tank.
The XP I have doesn't have any bars or a low fuel light that work.

The GTX shows bars, but is totally inaccurate. After filling tank it will
read just under full (the last bar doesn't light), and 1/2 hour of
running will drop it to half, and hour or so drops it to 2 bars.

I haven't pulled it either apart yet becuase I am used to not having a
fuel guage on my old stand-up. And I just add about 2 gallons per running
hour following use.
