Hi,

I'm just at the beginning of thinking about buying a river cruiser
(+near coastal?).

I'm in Kent and it seems to me that boats are cheaper further north so
I'm wondering would it be sensible to buy from the Midlands or a bit
further north and move the boat down here.

How much would it cost to have a 20-25 foot motor cruiser lifted out of
the water and moved 200 miles (for example) and put back in the water?
Is there a rough formula , ie, so much per foot per mile + cost of
getting in and out?

What's the largest boat length that can be moved on a trailer and towed
by a family sized car (2ltr)? At what length/weight do you have to move
up to a four wheel drive heavyweight towing vehicle?

Sorry for the questions - just trying to collect info so I can start
thinking about this Smile .

Regards,

John.

Why not just sail it down to where you want it ? you mention you wany
+near coastal.
Take a few day off work and make a holiday out of it, plan a couple of
overnight stops at Marina's on route.

Proably cheaper than trucking it (apart from your time)

I moved a 24' Mariah from North Wales by sea ... bit bouncy through
Cardigan bay, but ceratinly not risky or difficult.

Naviagtion was easy ... keep land on your left !
