Hi all,
I need some help in changing the water pump on my Evinrude. When I try to
drop the lower unit to get at the pump, it hangs up on the shift rod.
Any help appreciated.
George

George,

It's still am mechanical shift?

Did you find the little plate with two screws about half way up the leg?

Went you take out the screws and open the door, you will find two 1/4
(as I recall) HHCS you have to take the lower one all the way out.

By the by, this group is read by people that actually race boats in USSA
sanctioned events - sailors - that like to discuss tactics or rules.
You might do better in the future at rec.boats.racing.power or
rec.boats.building

Hope this was some help.

A little wider than that. The world doesn't actually end at New York.
