Does anyone have any information on Glass Hawk boats manufactured in
Liverpool, NY. Mine is a 14 or 15 foot model and I think it was made
in 1962. I don't have any specific questions but would just be
interested in anything available.
I'm guessing it's a 1962 model as the serial number is 62-1059. It's
not a Chriscraft but it has a nice shape and the size is small enough
to be towed by an average vehicle. >> Stay informed about: Glass Hawk Boats Liverpool, NY |

Yes, I tried Google and came up with nothing. I'll try taking a
picture ASAP and post it.

I'll try that in the near future. I'll be fishing Big Bay in the
Spring. I'll hit some of the marinas there.

The internet and its search engines come up empty on lots of queries.
Thank goodness.

If you turn up nothing here, try contacting a marina in the neighborhood
near where the boats were made. Maybe you'll run across a historian.

I believe what you are looking for is Glasshawk boats which were MFG
clones made from molds purchased from MFG by a guy whose last name was
Glass. I remember purchasing some fabricated parts for an MFG I
restored from a broker who got them from a NOS supplier who bought out
the stock of Glasshawk parts. This was a LONG time ago.
If I see a picture, I can tell.
Anyhoo, Glasshawk didn't last long - I believe they sold out to Larson
in the late sixties/early seventies.
As always, memory may be extremely rusty. >> Stay informed about: Glass Hawk Boats Liverpool, NY |

Glasshawk boats were built behind AC Lamb and Son, Vine St., Liverpool
NY. They produced one or two models of glass runabouts plus some canoes.
My dealership may have sold a few of them - I just don't remember.
I have no idea where their moulds came from, even though the boats
looked suspiciously like some of the Starcraft boats that Lamb's
distributed.
I was picking up a load of Starcrafts one day when I saw smoke coming
from the boat plant. Turns out that it was a pail of resin that someone
had dumped in too much promoter. Not much damage - but a smokey mess.

Glasshawk boats were built by A.C. Lamb and Son, Vine St. Liverpool, NY.
Lambs were the NYS distributor for Starcraft boats and the Glasshawks
looked very much like some of the Starcrafts of that era.
My dealership may have sold a few of their boats or their canoes; I
don't remember.
I do remember picking up a load of Starcrafts one day when I noticed
smoke coming from the boat plant. It seems that someone had put way too
much promoter in a pail of resin. No major damage - just a smoky mess.
Good luck and good boating,
Jim
