I'm NOT a "boat guy", but I'm hoping someone here with
knowledge of boats and navigation can help me with something.

My wife and I will be moving near Lake Ontario soon (US side,
but I'm still a good guy, really), and I'd like to buy some
sort of map or navigational chart of the lake, to hang in
my home office, hopefully 3 to 4 feet in width. This will
most definitely NOT be used for anything except wall art,
so I have no real concern about the accuracy or level of
useful detail in the map.

I've looked at a lot of web sites and not found any map or
chart of the entire lake region (or just the southern shore)
that seemed like a good candidate.

Suggestions, anyone?

Take care,
Lou

If you don't mind a Canadian chart, "Chart # 2000 Lake Ontario/Lac Ontario"
a 1:400,000 scale chart, covers all of Lake Ontario, the Niagara River, and
a small part of northern Lake Erie. Also part of the St. Lawrence River at
the other end. Current edition is dated 1998-04-10. It is about 3' x 4" in
size.
Here's an online listing of Canadian & American dealers of Canadian
(Canadian Hydrographic Service) Charts.
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.shc.gc.ca/pub/en/dealers/locate.asp" target="_blank">http://www.shc.gc.ca/pub/en/dealers/locate.asp</a>
If you surf around that site you'll also find an interactive online
catalogue of all Canadian paper charts if you want to look for others. Good
luck.

I agree.
The skipper I crew with took the official charts of St. Margaret's Bay and
Mahone Bay in Nova Scotia, had them mounted on the special board, and hung
them on his hallway wall. They looked great.

Thanks, Don and Ken. I'll look into that option. Sounds like just what
I'm looking for.
