"Why, of course, the people don't want war," Goering shrugged. "Why
would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the
best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece.
Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in
England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is
understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who
determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people
along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a
Parliament or a Communist dictatorship."

“The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is
easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and
denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country
to danger. It works the same way in any country."

Hermann Goering to Gustave Gilbert after World War II

I wonder if Goering read Mark Twain:

"We teach them to take their patriotism at second-hand; to shout with the
largest crowd without examining into the right or wrong of the matter -
exactly as boys under monarchies are taught and have always been taught. We
teach them to regard as traitors, and hold in aversion and contempt, such as
do not shout with the crowd, and so here in our democracy we are cheering a
thing which of all things is most foreign to it and out of place - the
delivery of our political conscience into somebody else's keeping. This is
patriotism on the Russian plan."
- Mark Twain

Right. Now, if only we'd gone after the people responsible, rather than a

The "people responsible" sent their "soldiers" to attack us. We have to
defeat the "soldiers" (disrupt their training bases, cash flow, and supply
lines) before going after "the people responsible". That's our mission in
Afghanistan and Iraq. Next, comes Iran...<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Golly, didn't know there were Iraqis and Iranians on those planes. Here I
thought it was a Saudi operation. How stupid of me.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Disrupt their training bases (Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran)
Disrupt their cash flow (Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia)
Disrupt their supply lines (Iraq, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan)

You actually believe we are going to make war on most of the Islamic
world? There will be repercussions you apparently cannot imagine. Here's
hoping the Islamists pick your hometown as the prime target area.

Harry,
You know that NYOB really does not give a damn if NYC, LA, or DC gets hit,
as long as it does not tip is wonderful applecart in Naples, FL. He has
repeatedly pointed out how all of the problems other people have don't
affect him because of his multitudinous wise choices (profession, local,
good clean living habits, parentage). As long as the people doing the
suffering are not him and his kin, it's all good. This explains his
participation in the "keep you hands off of my stack, Jack" political party,
and his absolute unwavering support of the current wrongheaded
administration.

The only way to do it "right" Harry *is* to repeat WW2. That means all the
*ugly* stuff like the interrment camps for Japs (only this time Arab
Islamists) and wreak such total havok on the Arab world that they have no
fight left and any that *had* any fight left have already died for Allah.
They can still hate us - but be just too BEATEN to have any fight left.

Islamic uprising in the "Arab street" ? - Hose them *all* down till the
sewers back up with coagulated blood.

When we are prepared to decimate the population over there (that's one outta
ten folks) then we'll see results. the time to launch that was Sept 12th
2001. The iron is way too cold now and we are persuing 1/2 measures.

They attended terrorist training camps in Afghanistan...and most likely
learned to hijack an airplane in Salman Pak.
