Check your gascap for a torn gasket, check the fuel tank check valve.
Sometimes when they age they will get harder to start. For those
units, put a primer kit and get rid of the choke. A primer pumps raw
fuel down the throat of the carb. It also will save wear and tear on
your battery and starter.
