I am looking to purchase my first ski. I found, what appears to be, a nice
used ski - a 2000 millennium gtx rfi, 55hrs - asking $4800 "but will
negotiate". Only thing that raised a red flag was that he mentioned he
heard a noise inside the drive shaft - a hum - and decided to get it
repaired. Said he had the balance repaired and (I think) the drive shaft
replaced for about $800.

Is this a sign of possible trouble down the road or is it good that it has
been taken care of now and I don't have to worry about it? Also, any
suggestions on what price point I should start negotiations.

Thanks

Sounds like a lot of money to have the shart replaced... but the story
makes sense.

I had a friend that sucked up a rock and it bent his drive shaft
causing a vibration. (98 GSX)

Replacing the shaft fixed the problem and the rock caused no other
problems...

Bill any used or even slightly used machine could have hidden problems which
the owner may not even know.
Best way is to test it in person
