What's up with my spark plugs??? - I took my 1994 SeaDoo GTX to the beach with me for the first time last weekend. I took it out to the ocean and on the way back to the ramp in the waterway I noticed it was not running smooth. It would sort of bog out every once in a while. The next day

WTB: WatercraftMagic 650/720 Intake Case Brace - Looking for a WCM intake case brace for a 720 Rotax. Thanks, John...

Thanks - Thanks for replys. T

Review/opinion for: 2000 Seadoo GS / 1999 Kawasaki ZXI 1100 - Newbie, in the market for a couple used PWC. Have no idea what to look for but do know my price range and that I would like them to be able to carry 2 people at a time, if possible. Have an willing to sell me 2 used ones from his family for..

WTB: Duckbill drain plug - Sounds simple enough huh? Yet I can't find anyone that has one in stock for my Polaris and SeaDoo. If you know of someone post it here as I am sure others are having the same problem.

I just got my 1998 SLTH to run the other day after quite an ordeal. I pulled
the engine thinking it needed an overhaul but after doing a compression test
120 psi on both cylinders I started looking else where for problems. I knew
the bendix was messed up but when I pulled the cover off the stator housing
and brown stuff oozed out I knew I had problems.

I took the stator off and found several opens in the coils and repaired
them. The exciter circuit showed continuity to the alternator circuit so I
dug out all the red rubber around the connections and found where the two
circuits had shorted and repaired that. After sealing everything back up
with 3M Scotchcoat it was ready for that Rube Goldberg test with the nine
volt battery. With a volt meter on the alternator and a ohmmeter and nine
volt battery on the exciter it tested fine producing 4.5 volts at cranking
speed and the exciter tested good too.

Next on the list was the bendix. I order one from a Ebay outfit
UnitsDirect.com and put it in only to find that it was out of round and
almost ruined my starter motor. Not wanting the hassle of returning the part
to UnitsDirect.com I used what I needed from the new one to fix my old
bendix. It was the back plate that holds the bendix weights and the spring.

With everything back in place and clean sparkplugs the engine fired which
surprised most everyone when I told them it started. I'll get it on the lake
the next chance I get to see how it runs.

Mick

Crafty. Best of luck to you once you hit the water. Hope you are getting
splashed in the face in the very near future, sir. Be safe.
