The hours on both of these boats can be read by a dealer using special
equipment. The engine hours are stored in the system electronics (MPEM).
Besides being horribly inaccurate, the speedos die on a regular basis. The
first thing to check is to make sure the "paddlewheel" is still intact on
the back of the boat.. located to the side of the jet pump exit on the "ride
plate".
The "800" engines are robust and excellent performers. Probably one of the
finest and most reliable engines ever made by Bombardier/Rotax/SeaDoo.
