Archived from groups: rec>sport>jetski (more info?)

Here is the story. My son flipped the seadoo (95 XP) and the seat came off
and it got water in the bilge. He cranked it back up and brought it in
where we immediately pulled the drain plug and let the 3 inches of water
drain out.
He went back out in the water and after 15 minutes it started sputtering and
finally quit. It was full of gas and the starter was turning it would just
not hit. I changed both spark plugs and put in a new battery after we
drained the other. Still would not crank, but was turning over.

After I got it home I found a clear hose loose and after taking pictures on
the inside found a hose missing on the oil injection tank, both are noted in
the below pictures, and maybe, just maybe the hose goes to the oil tank but
I can't see why and repair manual shows the hose I am missing going to the
electrical box and I can find no loose hose in the engine compartment but it
could have fell out when my son flipped it. I'm all ears for any
suggestions on what goes where.

1st picture link is of the fitting with missing hose on oil tank - link
below

2nd picture is the clear line that one end goes out the side of the jetski
and maybe the other end goes to the above picture oil line fitting but that
makes no sense to me, link below

Any suggestions appreciated.

David,
The first photo shows the oil tank check valve. There is no hose that
is suppose to be connected to it. The second photo shows the battery
vent hose. It has to vent hydrogen gases overboard from the battery.

Thanks a million that solves that mystery! The only thing I know to do now
as far as getting it to start is to get a carb rebuild kit. We bought it
used and the guy told me he winterized it but I'm thinking maybe he did not
and the flip over and water in the bilge is having nothing to do with this.

I've got spark and even when I changed the spark plugs the old ones looked
good. If there is anything I should try before a crab rebuild I am all ears,
and thanks for the help on the line again!!!

That hose looks like the battery vent hose.
