Post subject: SoCal Singlehanded Sailor Championship Race Series, NEW!
Archived from groups: rec>boats>racing (more info?)

Pacific Singlehanded Sailing Association is pleased to announce the
establishment of an annual Southern California Singlehanded Sailor
Championship Race Series. Joining together with Shoreline Yacht Club
of Long Beach and Redondo Beach Yacht Club, this three race series will

determine the best singlehanded sailor of Southern California.

Here's how it works. The Championship is open to all singlehanded
sailors in Southern California, from Morro Bay to San Diego.
There'll be three races, a short buoy race, a medium buoy race, and
an overnight race, each race sponsored by a different club.

For example, the first race on May 20th is an overnight race around
Santa Barbara Island sponsored by PSSA. The second race of the series
is the Platform to Queen Mary race put on by Shoreline Yacht Club of
Long Beach. It is a long buoy race of about 20 miles and held on
August 12th. The final race of the series is the Frank Guernsey
Challenge put on by Redondo Beach Yacht Club on October 21st.

Each club will administer their own race and you'll get the race
information from them and follow their race rules and regulations.
They will do the scoring and will "score" the finishing order of
ALL singlehanders who complete their race, not just the "winning
singlehander". PSSA will put the scores together to determine the
winner of the series as explained in the NOR for the series.
