Hi All
I hope everyone is having a fun and safe summer on the water.

We just wanted to introduce ourselves and let you all know about the
new instructional offerings down here in the Southern Appalachian
Mountains of North Carolina. My wife and I own and operate both a
whitewater kayak school and touring kayak school and guide service.

The whitewater kayak school is called Pisgah Whitewater
http://www.pisgahwhitewater.com Even though Pisgah Whitewater is
entering it's fourth successful year and demand is near or at times
above our capacity we are determined not to expand our class size of 4
students. So, the good news is that we are not changing our simple
formula for success, small groups and personalized instruction. We are
researching a destination whitewater trip to Chile. For more info go
to our site above.

The touring program is an exciting new offering for us. Many of you
may be surprised that the mountains of western North Carolina have
some great touring. Experienced touring kayakers from around the
southern coastal US know that the mountains are a great place to
escape from the heat on our clear, cool mountain lakes, but the
Southern Appalachian mountains still remain a well kept secret for
most of the touring community.
We are developing an online flat water guide to the southern
Appalachian region with maps, logistics, and locations of waterfalls,
hikes, and other points of interest. Anyone familiar with these areas
that would like to get involved can contact us at
http://www.mountainkayaktours.com.

For those of you who are lucky enough to find your self near
Asheville, North Carolina, we work part time at Diamond Brand Outdoors
in Arden. Feel free to stop by and chat. At least one of us will be
available in the store on Monday through Thursday this summer.

We are constructing a new photography site in our very limited spare
time. At the rate of one hour per week it should be looking pretty
good by 2005.

Oh, one last thing, a very talented writer, Terry Busch, mentioned us
in an article he wrote about baby boomers and whitewater kayaking. If
you are interested in reading it go here.

Thanks,
